Have students give the reasons they have turned to reading classified ads. Tell them the objectives of the lesson.
1. Activity 6 is a series of comprehension questions on some classified ads that test knowledge of abbreviations used.
Correct Activity 6 in class.2. Distribute newspapers and have student find three ads, cut them, paste them on a sheet of paper and expand the abbreviations in the ads.
3. Have students attempt to write a successful ad.
Have student check on another student's ad.
Ad follows conventions and criteria of successful ad.
