Bulkeley High School Center of Excellence for Health Professions

College Preparation with an emphasis on the Health Professions

Our Program Includes:

The Bulkeley High School Center of Excellence for Health Professions is a four year career academy that serves honors, academic, and general students with a focus on the health professions. It is run as a "school within a school" offering a rigorous program that stresses academic achievement and personal responsibility.

Students within the Academy participate in various enrichment activities such as field trips, team building programs, personal development and career training workshops. Guest speakers are an integral component of the Academy as well. Experiential activities such as Community Service, Job Shadows, and Internships give the students a chance to examine the health professions in a real setting.

Academy administration, teachers, students, and parents function as a team to foster student learning and achievement with the ultimate objective for students to go on to higher post-secondary education.

Admission to the Center of Excellence is by application. CMT scores and teacher/counselor recommendations are required and are used as a basis to determine acceptance and student levels.
